Football Game Preview: Mt. Morris Panthers vs. Durand Railroaders

The Mt. Morris Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Durand Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Morris has given up an average of 34.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mt. Morris is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. The matchup between the Panthers and New Lothrop didn't end well, with the Panthers falling 41-24. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Mt. Morris might have lost, but man, Colby Carper was a machine: he rushed for 91 yards and one TD, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and one score.

Durand not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 27, 2024 (when they won 55-0). They blew past Lakeville, posting a 50-10 win. The victory continues a trend for the Railroaders in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won seven in a row.

Durand now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mt. Morris, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Mt. Morris was dealt a bruising 53-23 loss at the hands of Durand in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
