Football Recap: Montgomery Academy Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins on the Road + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Montgomery Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to the Bayside Academy Admirals on the road by a 30-13 margin on Friday. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Although Montgomery Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Braden Gordon and Reid McBride.

Montgomery Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Knox Wingate and Jarrett Friendly.

Brennen Yamane went supernova For Bayside Academy., rushing for 170 yards and one TD while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 32 receiving yards and one score. Those 170 rushing yards gave Yamane a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Barnett, who threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes.

Montgomery Academy's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-2. As for Bayside Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Montgomery Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bayside Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 51-20 win against Southside on the 28th.
