Last Friday, Centerville didn't have quite enough to beat Normangee and fell 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-20 in the first set.
Centerville took Normangee into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13.
Despite the defeat, Centerville saw an underclassman step up: Madeline Largent had ten digs.
Meanwhile, Lovelady came up short against Normangee on Tuesday and fell 3-1.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20.
