Basketball Game Preview: Ellenville Blue Devils vs. Onteora Eagles

Ellenville is 1-9 against Onteora since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Eagles at 4:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Ellenville ended up a good deal behind Highland and lost 55-36.

Meanwhile, Onteora came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Spartans 35-33. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Onteora's win came from a few key players that Ellenville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Vivienne Lamb, who posted nine points in addition to five steals and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Erin Kothe was another key player, putting up eight points and 13 rebounds.

Onteora smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Ellenville's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Onteora, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
