Recap: Center Vikings vs. Dolores Bears

The Center Vikings were the 59-31 winner over the Dolores Bears when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Center fell 54-46 to Dolores on Saturday. Center has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angel Rios, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals. Rios hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Yanixan Padilla, who scored 7 points.

Mark Palate was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with 7 steals for Dolores. That makes it four consecutive games in which Palate has scored at least 25% of Dolores' points. Jonathan Purkat was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 6 rebounds.

Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dolores, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Center will be playing at home against Calhan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dolores' road trip will continue as they head out to face Rangely at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th.
