Basketball Recap: San Jacinto Beats Indio for Their Third Straight Win

San Jacinto extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Josiah Mejia. The San Jacinto Tigers walked away with a 58-51 win over the Indio Rajahs on Thursday thanks in part to Mejia, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 25 points in addition to five boards and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Acevedo, who posted eight points and five rebounds. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

San Jacinto has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Indio, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

San Jacinto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-45 defeat against Calexico on the 27th. As for Indio, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-60 victory against Valley Center on the 27th.
