Baseball Recap: Kenston Forest Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Kenston Forest's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Amelia Academy Patriots. This was a revenge game for the Kavaliers: when they faced off against the Patriots back in March, they had to take a 12-2 defeat.

Graham Sledd made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Devin Dunn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2025. Tine Sledd was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Kenston Forest's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Amelia Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.
