Softball Recap: St. Frederick Drops Season-High Score on Beekman Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Frederick). They blew past the Beekman Charter Tigers 19-3 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Abigail Creighton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Creighton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, St. Frederick got a massive performance out of Avery Houser, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3. That double marked the first that Houser hit this season. Megan Day was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and two RBI.

St. Frederick hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

St. Frederick pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Beekman Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Frederick will welcome Grant at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Beekman Charter, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Carroll at 5:30 p.m.
