Ignacio had won eight straight on the road, but on Saturday they bumped up to 17-3 to make it nine. They blew past the Ouray Trojans 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 16, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Ignacio's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tarah Baker led the charge by getting nine digs and three aces. What's more, Baker posted four assists, the most she's had since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Sirios, who hit 100% for five kills and nine digs, four aces, and one block.

They weren't the only good servers: Ignacio was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 17 aces in three consecutive matches.

As for Ouray, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 16, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Despite the defeat, Ouray saw an underclassman step up: freshman Imogene Demuth had 14 digs. Charlotte Vanderploeg also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Ignacio didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Dove Creek on the 25th. As for Ouray, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Norwood on the 21st.
