Softball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep Comes Up Short

Hackett Catholic Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fennville Blackhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 on Friday.

Ellie Kling was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Meredith Chenier was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Hackett Catholic Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Fennville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackett Catholic Prep will square off against Allegan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fennville, they will face off against Saugatuck at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
