Basketball Recap: Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Christopher last Thursday, Sesser-Valier/Waltonville came back down to earth. The Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils fell just short of the Marissa/Coulterville Meteors by a score of 43-40 on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Devils came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Meteors are ranked 239th).

With the defeat, Sesser-Valier/Waltonville broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. As for Marissa/Coulterville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Trico the next time they take the court. Sesser-Valier/Waltonville will head out to face Trico at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Marissa/Coulterville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
