Basketball Recap: Palm Harbor University's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Largo wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Palm Harbor University, they should've done a better job of containing Kylie Smith. The Palm Harbor University Hurricanes blew past the Largo Packers 62-42 on Tuesday thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Yeraldin Zamora, who posted 11 points and three steals. Zamora is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Largo had strong showings from Ana Leka, who had 11 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, and Laiana McClinton, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Leka a new career-high in steals.

The win made it two in a row for Palm Harbor University and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Largo, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Palm Harbor University wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-41 loss against Countryside on the 11th. As for Largo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-25 victory against Hollins on the 12th.
