Softball Recap: Edinburgh Beats Jac-Cen-Del for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Edinburgh won against Eminence on Wednesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Lancers beat the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Lancers, who have now won five contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Gracie Barrett, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Eloise Cox, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Edinburgh's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jac-Cen-Del, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edinburgh will head out to take on Greenwood Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jac-Cen-Del, they will face off against South Ripley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
