Preview: Morris Knolls Golden Eagles vs. Union Catholic Vikings
The Morris Knolls Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Union Catholic Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Morris Knolls is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Morris Knolls put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Pope John XXIII, posting a 71-34 win on the road. 71 seems to be a good number for Morris Knolls as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Union Catholic came up short against Elizabeth on Thursday and fell 58-47. While losing is never fun, Union Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Elizabeth is ranked 19th).
Morris Knolls' victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Union Catholic, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Morris Knolls didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Union Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morris Knolls since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
