Basketball Game Preview: Brookside Cardinals vs. Wellington Dukes

Brookside is 1-9 against Wellington since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 12:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Brookside beat Oberlin 60-51.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wellington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Black River 59-23. The matchup marked the Dukes' most dominant win of the season so far.

Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Brookside, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

Brookside was dealt a bruising 52-20 loss at the hands of Wellington when the teams last played back in February. Can Brookside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
