Softball Recap: Pittsfield Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pittsfield extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 5-5 in the process. They walked away with a 15-12 win over the Minnechaug Regional Falcons. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Nevaeh Lopez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Gionnah Levardi, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pittsfield lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

As for Minnechaug Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

On Minnechaug Regional's side, they got a big performance out of Ella Ferrentino, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Peabody, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Pittsfield will square off against Greenfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Minnechaug Regional, they will challenge Monson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
