Recap: Iowa Park Hawks vs. Clyde Bulldogs
The Iowa Park Hawks''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 21-13 win over Clyde. The win was all the more spectacular given Iowa Park's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 536th, while Clyde is ranked 172nd).
Among those leading the charge was Parker Allen, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Clyde lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blake Carr. Despite the final result, he rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 101 yards and a touchdown. Carr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
Iowa Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Clyde, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-1.
Iowa Park will head out on the road to face off against Jim Ned at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jim Ned will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Clyde will take on Breckenridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
