Basketball Game Preview: Charlevoix Rayders vs. Grayling Vikings

The Charlevoix Rayders will venture away from home to face off against the Grayling Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlevoix is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, Charlevoix was able to grind out a solid win over Harbor Springs, taking the game 54-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rayders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Rams are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Grayling was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 57-53 to Boyne City.

Charlevoix has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Grayling, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Charlevoix was able to grind out a solid win over Grayling in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 51-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charlevoix since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
