Basketball Recap: Fordham Prep Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Fordham Prep had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They strolled past the Dalton Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 66-47.

Leading Fordham Prep to victory were Jacob Toomer and Brian Kapfer. Toomer went 6 for 11 en route to 19 points and six boards, while Kapfer went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Kapfer's afternoon made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Alexander, who posted ten points.

Fordham Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.6% in those games and 31.5% outside of them. As for Dalton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Fordham Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Monsignor Farrell at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. One thing working in Fordham Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. Dalton has already played their next match (against Collegiate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
