Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Tuesday. Gulf Coast HEAT walked away with a 3-1 victory over Inspiration Academy. This was a revenge game for Gulf Coast HEAT: when they faced off against Inspiration Academy back in August, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 15-25, 25-18.

Halle Gardner paced Gulf Coast HEAT's offense, picking up eight kills. Gardner got some help from Payton Haines and her ten assists. Mayli Hanes controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Gulf Coast HEAT is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Inspiration Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Gulf Coast HEAT will face off against North Port at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Inspiration Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 6:00 p.m.
