Basketball Recap: Jack Cady's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brattleboro over Burr & Burton

After flying high against Mt. St. Joseph Academy last Tuesday, Brattleboro came back down to earth. The Brattleboro Bears took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burr & Burton Bulldogs on Friday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 59-42.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack Cady, who went 5-for-6 en route to 11 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Cady a new career-high in field goal percentage (83%). Oscar Korson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Brattleboro's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Burr & Burton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Brattleboro nor Burr & Burton have any future games scheduled.
