Baseball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Takes a Loss

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monticello Panthers. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Vinton-Shellsburg now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Monticello, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Vinton-Shellsburg will look to defend their home field on Monday against Williamsburg at 5:00 p.m. As for Monticello, they will square off against North Linn at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
