Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lancers vs. Kennedy Commanders

The Lincoln Lancers and the Kennedy Commanders will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Lincoln is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Lincoln lost to Manual at home by a 53-39 margin.

Meanwhile, Kennedy came up short against DSST: Cedar on Thursday and fell 69-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Commanders still had to take the loss.

Lincoln will have to contain Xavier Benavidez as he made an impact in Kennedy's last game. He went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Quinn Padilla, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Lincoln couldn't quite finish off Kennedy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 50-48. Can Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
