Baseball Recap: Wheat Ridge Comes Up Short

Wheat Ridge had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it seven. They came up short against the Conifer Lobos, falling 15-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Wheat Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Kingsley, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Nathan Trione Jr, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

On Conifer's side, Luke Tamburlin looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Conifer let Mckade Tracy and Romey Haydon run wild. Tracy went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Haydon got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Haydon has become a key player for Conifer: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Giefer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
