Football Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Liberty extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They fell 35-28 to the Oaks Christian Lions. The Patriots lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in September of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-7 score last time.

Robert Smith Jr. threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Carter Hanson was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Dennis Perry rushed for 73 yards and a pair of TDs.

Oaks Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Deshonne Redeaux had a dynamite game, rushing for 276 yards and four scores on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 31-13 loss against Buchanan on the 11th. As for Oaks Christian, they will welcome Santa Margarita at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
