Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss

Holy Cross played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the All Saints Episcopal School Patriots, falling 53-21. The Crusaders were down 40-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

All Saints Episcopal School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Brashear led the charge by going 9 for 13 en route to 19 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Hannah Owen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Holy Cross dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for All Saints Episcopal School, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season.
