Dudley and Southern Guilford are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Panthers will square off against the Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Dudley has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Southern Guilford will arrive with ten straight victories.

Things were looking good for Dudley after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 24-4 to Northwest Guilford.

John Madden was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamaree McCray, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Southern Guilford hadn't done well against Eastern Guilford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Storm came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-3.

Southern Guilford pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Dudley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Dudley came up short against Southern Guilford in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
