Basketball Recap: Aurora West College Prep Academy Takes a Loss

If Aurora West College Prep Academy was riding high fresh off their 54-23 takedown of Nederland last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans took a blow against the Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves on Wednesday, falling 82-55. The Spartans were down 65-42 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy found their leader in sophomore Matthew Wurth, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Wurth also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Twin Peaks Classical Academy is 8-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 6-7 otherwise. David Bosire was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 20 points and eight boards.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Twin Peaks Classical Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.

Coming up, Aurora West College Prep Academy will welcome Arvada at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Twin Peaks Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
