Baseball Recap: Cameron Find Success

Cameron hadn't done well against Ashland recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Comets came out on top against the Oredockers by a score of 10-7. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brady Gronski was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Cameron is 2-1 when Gronski posts two or more runs, but 2-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayton Silvernail, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Cameron was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

The victory made it two in a row for Cameron and bumps their season record up to 4-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Ashland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Cameron will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Oredockers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
