Recap: River Ridge Knights vs. Allatoona Buccaneers
The River Ridge Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Allatoona at home to the tune of 94-5. River Ridge's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Sophia Pearl, who shot 6-for-12 from downtown and almost dropped a triple-double on 32 points, nine assists, and ten steals. The game was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Kyla Cantey was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
River Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Allatoona, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
River Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Norcross at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Norcross is on a three-game streak of home wins, River Ridge a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Allatoona will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sequoyah at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
