Danvers got themselves on the board against Masconomet Regional on Wednesday, but Masconomet Regional never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Chieftains. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Falcons have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The result came thanks to Beckett Wodarski's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colby Medeiros, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jack Curcuru was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Danvers' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2. As for Masconomet Regional, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Danvers will welcome Winthrop at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Masconomet Regional, they will be playing at home against Salem at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
