Football Recap: Flatonia Comes Up Short

Flatonia lost against Weimar back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs took a 21-7 bruising from the Wildcats. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wildcats since Friday.

This is the second loss in a row for Flatonia and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Kenedy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 83.3% over those games). As for Weimar, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Flatonia is set to take on their familiar foe Schulenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Weimar will square off against rival Kenedy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
