Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Northglenn Norsemen

Brighton is 8-2 against Northglenn since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Norsemen at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Brighton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Mountain Range a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brighton got a massive performance out of Nick Griffin, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Griffin a new career-high. Austin Waltemath was another key player, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Brighton lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They are 4-1 when they post two or more home runs.

Meanwhile, Northglenn can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Hinkley. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Norsemen yet this season.

Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Northglenn, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.

Brighton took their victory against Northglenn in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Norsemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
