Softball Recap: Nevada Union Miners vs. Roseville Tigers

Nevada Union extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-17-1 in the process. They came up short against the Roseville Tigers, falling 17-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 back in April.

As for Roseville, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.

For Roseville's part, McKenna Patterson was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Solorio, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Coming up, Nevada Union will look to defend their home field on Monday against Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. The Honkers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Miners' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
