Softball Recap: Nevada Union Takes a Loss

Nevada Union extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-17-1 in the process. They came up short against the Roseville Tigers, falling 17-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 back in April.

As for Roseville, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.

For Roseville's part, McKenna Patterson was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Solorio, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Coming up, Nevada Union will look to defend their home field on Monday against Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. The Honkers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Miners' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Roseville, they will challenge Twelve Bridges at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
