Volleyball Game Preview: Minatare Indians vs. Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls

Minatare is 2-8 against Cody-Kilgore since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Cowboys/Cowgirls at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, Minatare came up short against Bayard and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Bayard scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Cody-Kilgore also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Valentine by a score of 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys/Cowgirls in their meetings with Valentine: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-18.

Cody-Kilgore's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Minatare, their loss dropped their record down to 10-18.

Minatare might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Cody-Kilgore in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
