Baseball Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bradley-Bourbonnais walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Minooka Indians 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Boilermakers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Cody Freitas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Bradley-Bourbonnais is 5-2 when Freitas allows one or fewer earned runs, but 13-16 otherwise. Freitas was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Freitas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ty Alderson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory got Bradley-Bourbonnais back to even at 18-18. As for Minooka, they moved to 33-4 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Bradley-Bourbonnais nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
