Basketball Recap: Salina Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaden Snyder and Kamryn Jones

Salina Central lost against Newton back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Salina Central Mustangs lost 63-41 to the Newton Railroaders.

Salina Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kamryn Jones, who posted 12 points and six boards, and Kaden Snyder, who earned nine points and seven rebounds. Those six boards gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Greyson Jones, who put up five points.

Salina Central has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. Newton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Salina Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-55 loss against Haysville Campus on the 28th. As for Newton, they have also already played their next game, an 82-62 defeat against Andover Central on the 27th.
