Softball Recap: Lakeland Christian Comes Up Short

If Lakeland Christian was riding high fresh off their 20-11 takedown of Shorecrest Prep last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lakeland Christian came up short against the Fort Meade Miners on Monday, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost three in a row.

Lakeland Christian's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Fort Meade, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Lakeland Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 16-6 victory against Canterbury on the 11th. As for Fort Meade, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Lake Gibson on the 11th.
