Volleyball Recap: Whitmer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Whitmer barely beat Findlay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Whitmer not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Findlay between 16 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-19.

Whitmer had a senior duo take command as Taylor Brown had 18 digs and four assists and Lexi Amundsen had seven digs and one assist. Brown is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Taryne Speegle also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Findlay's loss came despite strong showings from Stephanie Ragan and Anika Helms. Ragan had 11 digs and one assist, while Helms had eight digs and four assists.

Whitmer's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Findlay, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Whitmer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Brecksville-Broadview Heights on the 6th. As for Findlay, they will face off against Perrysburg at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
