Rifle kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Grand Junction Tigers on the road and fell 48-0.

Isaac Valencia was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards.
Will Applegate was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 83 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Mason Anderson was in the mix too, providing Grand Junction with two touchdowns touchdowns.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rifle will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Basalt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
