Softball Recap: Sherman Comes Up Short

Sherman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Walnut Grove Wildcats, falling 15-1. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 10-5 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sherman's loss dropped their record down to 2-13-1. As for Walnut Grove, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Sherman will host Anna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sherman has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Walnut Grove, they will head out to face off against McKinney North at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Walnut Grove's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
