Softball Recap: Tucker County Takes a Loss

Tucker County lost against Petersburg back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Shaffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

Tucker County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Petersburg, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Tucker County will face off against Digital Harbor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Petersburg, they will challenge Pendleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcat will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
