Soccer Game Preview: Cox vs. First Colonial + How To Watch

Cox hasn't had much luck against First Colonial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home pitch against the Patriots at 5:15 p.m. Cox knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully First Colonial likes a good challenge.

While Cox didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Bayside with a sharp 7-2 win on Friday. Given Cox's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Bayside are ranked 190th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, First Colonial was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Ocean Lakes could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Cox's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. First Colonial's draw makes their record 2-2-1 this season.

Cox suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to First Colonial in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Falcons were down 4-0.
