Ledford is 8-2 against Montgomery Central since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will challenge the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. Ledford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Ledford made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Randleman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kaylee Atwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits.

At the plate, Alana Herrera was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Central entered their tilt with T.W. Andrews on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Red Raiders 16-0. Give the Timberwolves' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

With the loss, Ledford broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9. As for Montgomery Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Ledford came out on top in a nail-biter against Montgomery Central in their previous meeting last Tuesday, sneaking past 15-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
