Softball Recap: Dover Takes a Loss

Dover had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-11 to make it four. They came up short against the Milford Buccaneers, falling 11-0. If the Senators were looking for revenge after losing 17-1 to the Buccaneers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Milford, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

For Milford's part, Tenley Lord was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Lord was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bella Watson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Adri Fountain was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dover will square off against Delmarva Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Milford, they will face off against Red Lion Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
