Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Tampa Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Cristo Rey Tampa Panthers were beaten by the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks 59-14. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Fe Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sofia Hernandez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals. That's the most points Hernandez has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sasha Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.

Cristo Rey Tampa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Santa Fe Catholic, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Cristo Rey Tampa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they will face off against Auburndale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
