Eustis hasn't had much luck against The Villages Charter recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eustis Panthers will venture away from home to face off against The Villages Charter Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Eustis: 2.7, The Villages Charter: 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Eustis came up short against Mount Dora and fell 6-2. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Dallas Rasmussen put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Rasmussen wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Walker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, The Villages Charter put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against East Ridge by a score of 6-2. The six-run effort marked the Buffalo's lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Dominic Pittman looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Torin Foley, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Marcello Cortale also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
The Villages Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Eustis fell to 8-1. As for The Villages Charter, their record is now 7-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eustis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like The Villages Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Eustis suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to The Villages Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Eustis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
