Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Brophy College Prep Broncos

The Mesa Jackrabbits will challenge the Brophy College Prep Broncos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mesa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty, sneaking past 56-53. Winning may never get old, but the Jackrabbits sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mesa found their leader in freshman Jakyi Miles, who shot 50% from the field en route to 26 points and five boards. The contest was Miles' seventh in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daijon Grayson, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Highland typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Brophy College Prep proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Hawks 68-48. The Broncos not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 31st.

Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Brophy College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Mesa strolled past Brophy College Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2015 by a score of 75-56. Will Mesa repeat their success, or does Brophy College Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
