Basketball Game Preview: Park City Miners vs. Spanish Fork Dons

The Park City Miners will challenge the Spanish Fork Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Park City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 76-68 win over Union on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Miners as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fork came up short against Farmington on Monday and fell 68-58. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Park City will have to contain Gage Christensen as he made an impact in Spanish Fork's last game. He went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Christensen's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Hernandez, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points.

Spanish Fork's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Park City, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Park City suffered a grim 73-50 defeat to Spanish Fork when the teams last played back in February of 2021. Can Park City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
