Soccer Game Preview: Benjamin vs. Pine Crest

The Benjamin Buccaneers will take on the Pine Crest Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Benjamin is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering NSU University just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 6-2. The loss put an end to the Buccaneers' undefeated start to the season.

Jake Giovanni and Sean Sheehan scored both of Benjamin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, Pine Crest fell victim to Gulliver Prep and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to the Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Raiders are ranked fourth).

Having lost for the first time this season, Benjamin fell to 7-1. As for Pine Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Benjamin came up short against Pine Crest in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Benjamin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
